Lunch Activities

Meet the Pharmacometrician

This session’s goal is to promote a close interaction between senior pharmacometricians working in different environments and students, viewing to discuss career choices and opportunities. Each senior scientist will meet a limited group of students and present the challenges, opportunities and skills necessary to work with pharmacometrics in academia, industry, or consulting companies.

This activity will take place during lunch hour on Thursday (April 25th) and the following senior scientists will participate:

  • Bernd Meihbom – University of Tennessee (USA)
  • Maria Posada – Eli Lilly (USA)
  • Mathias Devreese – Ghent University (Bergium)
  • Robin Michelet – qPharmetra/Freie Universität Berlin (Germany)
  • Zinnia Parra-Guillen – University of Navarra (Spain)

When registering for this session the student should indicate the senior scientist (only one) who wants to meet. Because this session have limited vacancies, student should register until April 10th, 2024.

• Applications of pharmacometrics in drug development and precision dosing.
• Pharmacometric approaches based on available data and analysis goals.
• Population PK/PD model-building strategies
• Research and development opportunities for pharmacometrics in both industry and healthcare settings.
• Project initiation requirements.
• Technical questions on modelling and simulation software

This will be a question-and-answer session led by

  • Bernd Meibohm (University of Tennessee)
  • Joseph Standing (University College London)
  • Ana Ruiz (Gilead Sciences)
  • Robin Michelet (qPharmetra & Freie Universität Berlin).
